Dear All,
First, we wish to thank all of you for showing or submitting your works to us, for feedback and application.
We have had wonderful encounters with talented people, and we have also received great works via e-mail.
In total there were 45 applications to the 3 spaces we have available for 2020, and we knew selecting 12 for a
shortlist would be very difficult. There are several projects that so nearly missed the shortlist that we do wish
we could have included more photographers in our program. Unfortunately this is not possible.
When making our selection we have to take a few things into consideration, such as:
We look for artists working in different directions so we can have diversity at the residency, and
naturally the strength of the works showed to us at the review, or submitted with the application, is important.
Sometimes we will also consider offering a space for an artist in need of space and time to develop a project already in progress.
For different reasons we have for 2019 and 2020 had 3 pre-selected artists, and can therefore only invite 3 more for 2020.
For 2021 and onwards we will again be inviting 6 artists per year.
If your name is on the shortlist, congratulations!
If it is not, we encourage you to consider applying again next year, or the following year.
The final selection of 3 artists to be invited, – together with the 3 already selected – will be done by the end of August.
We know this part of the selection process will be equally difficult.
When the decision has been made, you will all receive another e-mail with the final result.
